The Angel - A little gem in a beautiful location
Elly Wentworth, the Head Chef, doesn't yet have a Michelin star but it can only be a matter of time. We have now had lunch here twice in a month and on each occasion the food was outstanding both in taste and presentation. The service is excellent but unobtrusive. We will definitely be back in the near future.

As regular visitors to Dartmouth we have not tried The Angel before. As we are vegan and I am coeliac we needed to give 24 hours notice. Boy was it worth it! The best vegan meal we’ve ever had and superb service. A separate vegan menu and seasonal variety will give you plenty of choice. Highly recommended.

One of the finest meals we have had - the risotto of black garlic was superb, but all of us enjoyed all our menu choices. The service was friendly, relaxed and professional, and the restaurant is by the seafront with lovely views.

Lovely welcome from Jordan - front of house, lovely atmosphere and Elly Wentworth's food is fabulous. The dishes were presented beautifully, so many different elements which work so well together - clever girl! Great service, delicious breads, little treats in between courses - so much thought has gone into everything - I can't wait to return!

Platform 1 - It's a must visit in Dartmouth
Had lunch here with family, it has lovely views, brilliant friendly staff and fabulous cooked to order food. We had the burger and the cod and chips. The batter on the fish was just right, nice and crispy and not drenched in oil like some places. I preferred the skinny fries to the chunky chips which wasn't a problem to request a change of menu. The burger was also cooked to perfection which came with their homemade slaw and homemade onion rings. Presentation was spot on, I would definitely recommend this gem of a place which is right on the waterfront. Also they have a brilliant wine list which I'm sure would satisfy everybody's needs which includes pol roger champagne sold by the glass or bottle. There is seating outside for when the weather is a bit warmer. I will definitely be returning, it's a must go stop for anybody visiting Dartmouth.

Platform 1 - Food, service, atmosphere and location are all perfect.
I was worried this place would be mediocre, and they were successful due to their location. I was wrong, their success is down to their excellent food (mainly seafood, but not entirely), and really attentive staff. The 'old train station' theme could have been made into an over done novelty, but it's not. The food, drink and service are all brilliant - only made better by the stunning views.

Just had a wonderful lunch of gin, and seafood platter with my husband and will definitely be visiting again. The platter was excellent, particularly the scallops. We were served my costa who was attentive throughout and knowledgeable about both food and drink. Thought the lunch was excellent value as well. Thanks for a wonderful lunch.

Platform 1 - Swift one at Lunch Time.... stayed longer than expected
Birthday weekend in Dartmouth, did a little shopping and thought we would pop into Platform 1 for a little bit of fizz. Atmosphere so lovely, decided to stay for lunch which was delicious and reasonably priced. Subsequently found out that Platform 1 and The Angel are sister businesses no wonder the food and ambience aligned. Delightful lunch, in a delightful setting … we will be back.
